Lynne Goyuk Comes Back to Her Roots – Joins League School as Admissions Coordinator

Lynne Goyuk’s first job was as an intern at the Peabody School in Newton, where she worked in a special needs classroom. She notes this is a bit of kismet – the League School’s first location was at the Peabody School. Her career has come full circle when she was hired in January as the school’s Admissions Coordinator.

“I am really excited to be here, and am looking forward to making an impact as part of the League School team. I look forward to collaborating with school districts, getting to know the parents and finding out how we can be supportive.”  – Lynne Goyuk

Lynne toured the League School a while back, never imagining she would one day work for the school. She was immediately impressed. Not only was the facility appealing, the mission of helping autistic students develop to their fullest potential resonated. Having worked for other Massachusetts Association of 766 Approved Private Schools (maaps) schools, and being familiar with Chief Operating Officer, Larry Sauer, through a variety of maaps programs, she was intrigued. The icing on the cake was the school’s “Best Special Needs School” designation by the Boston Parents Paper. So when the Admissions Coordinator position became available, Lynne quickly applied.

“I am really excited to be here,” said Lynne. “I am looking forward to making an impact as part of the League School team.”

Lynne brings a variety of admissions experience to the role. Most recently she was an Outreach Coordinator at the Kennedy Day School at Franciscan Children’s in Brighton, which provides special education services to over 60 students. She also has worked as a recruitment coordinator for Bright Horizons, a child care center, and as admissions director for the Cardinal Cushing Centers and St. Coletta Day School, which provide services to students with mild to severe special needs. Her first admissions position was at Emerson College.

“My background in outreach lends itself to increasing recognition of the League School’s work,” said Lynne. “Collaborating with school districts is important as they and we have the same goals – to educate students in the best environment for the particular student. The school’s Admissions Board puts a lot of time, effort, and thought to be sure a student and the school are the right match.”

When we met with Lynne, it was only her second day on the job. “I can’t wait to meet the students and get to know them,” she said. “I am also looking forward to getting to know the parents and finding out how we can be supportive.”
