The month of April is Autism Awareness Month, and participating in our annual 5K event brings awareness of autism and the League School into the greater Walpole community. This fun event begins at the Old Post Elementary School in Walpole and the course winds through Bird Park and area neighborhoods. Walkers also have the option of a one-mile course.
Early Bird Pricing
Sign up to run or walk by Saturday, February 29, and receive $5 off the $25 entry fee. Race day registration is $30. Register to walk or run.
Proceeds Benefit Phase II of the School’s Playground
The school is on its way to raising the $100,000 in funds needed for a new playground. Due to safety concerns, some elements of the playground, which served our students for 19 years, were taken down in the fall. Funds raised-to-date have made possible the structure removal and needed landscape preparation.
Now we’re ready for Phase II – new equipment! Building a new playground is a critical need for the students, who benefit socially, emotionally, and physically. Playgrounds also foster exploration and discovery, and a variety of equipment helps children develop problem solving skills and confidence.
All funds raised from the 5K Walk/Run for Autism will go toward Phase II of the playground project. Join us rain or shine, and support the League School’s playground project.
