In Spite of Foul Weather, Golfers Flooded League School with Support

Rain couldn’t damper spirts

Driving rain could not stop 134 golfers from raising over $66,000 and making League School’s fifth annual “Fore” Autism Golf Classic a tremendous success.

Held on Monday, June 14th, at the Franklin Country Club, the record field of golfers came out with high spirits for what ended up being a wet round of golf in support of League School and students with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

“To say this has been an unprecedented year, in no way captures what League School has been through in the past 15 months. As we continue phasing into “normal” operations, the fact that so many chose to be there, in support of League School’s mission, was not lost on us” said Lawrence E. Sauer, Chief Executive Officer at League School.

League student, Anthony, inspired everyone before the round.

Before hitting the links, the crowd was inspired by the words of Anthony, who spoke about his experiences as a League School student and the impact the school and his teachers have had on his life.

Michelle Melanson, Special Events Coordinator stated, “The success was due in large part to the efforts of our golf committee. I would like to extend my sincerest thanks to Board member, Bob Walsh, as well as Lenny McAlister, Dave Surette from IQHQ, Dan McCarthy from MGM Law, Steve Chase from Intelligent Network Sales, and Donny Wright from JBK Management for their hard work and generosity”.

All the proceeds from the event will help League School complete their ongoing effort to raise the money necessary to renovate the School’s outdoor learning space. For more information about our outdoor learning space project, including donating or learning about naming opportunities within the space contact Tim McCabe, Director of Development tmccabe@leagueschool.com.

We hope to see everyone back for next year’s tournament!
