League School Raises Over $30,000 During Falmouth Road Race
League School’s team ran the 51st annual Falmouth Road Race this past weekend, raising more than $34,000 to benefit the school and its programming.
A total of 20 runners took to the iconic Falmouth shoreline to run in the race, joining more than 9,000 others from across Massachusetts, the United States and the world. Of those who ran for the team, more than a dozen were local runners from Walpole including League School staff members and Walpole Public Schools student-athletes.
Three members of the team posted times under one hour. They included:
- Jack Wheeler, 28, of Boston – Time of 46:06
- Ila Zollo, 15, of Walpole – Time of 53:02
- Matt Mourad, 18, of Walpole – Time of 58:50
Four League School staff members took part, including Director of Development (and team captain) Tim McCabe, Director of Neurodiversity & Community Inclusion Lindsay Wagner, Director of Education Patrick Fuller and Marketing Manager Matthew Reid.
Other team members included Matt Rainsford, Laura Hearn, Jamie Hauge, Robyn MacNeil, Rich Carlo, Drew Cantrell, Cole Chase, Ann Walsh, Reilly Walsh, Sean Laughlin, Sean Cusack, and Patrick McCabe.
League School once again took part in the Falmouth Road Race’s Numbers for Nonprofits charity team program, which this year featured more than 200 teams. Since 2000, the Falmouth Road Race has helped charity partners raise over $56.5 million and bring awareness to their various causes.
Money raised by the League School will go directly to areas of need within the school’s programs. In filling those needs, League School will continue to provide resources for students to learn and reach their fullest potential.
The school is still accepting donations as part of its 2023 Falmouth Road Race team. To donate, either to the team or to a specific runner, visit tinyurl.com/5n8mptkw.
