League School Announces Expanded Partnership with Michael John Carley

The League School is pleased to announce that well-known autism advocate Michael John Carley has taken on an expanded role with the school.

Michael will be the school’s new Neurodiversity and Leadership Advisor. His role will include leading self-advocacy groups with students, consulting with students as they prepare for transition to adulthood, advising the school’s Leadership team in neurodiversity-affirming practices, and assisting in program development for the school’s new vocational career center.

“I’m really happy to be the Neurodiversity and Leadership Advisor to the League School. While this new responsibility replaces none of my existing current roles throughout the autism world, it deepens a developing relationship with League School students and staff that began soon after my family moved back east in 2020,” Michael said. “My pride herein is centered on my new colleagues’ commitment to great humanism, a remarkable transition for a traditional autism school serving an often significantly-challenged population.”

“Huge thanks to CEO Larry Sauer, COO Cheryl White, and Director of Neurodiversity and Community Inclusion Lindsay Thelin Wagner for the remarkable culture that they, and so many throughout their school building, are creating with one another,” he added.

The League School is thrilled to be welcoming Michael into this expanded role. To learn more about Michael, view his website here.
