League School Celebrates Valentine’s Day in Style

Students and staff at the League School got into the Valentine’s Day spirit this year!

The halls of the school were decorated with Valentine’s Day-themed decorations, and several classes made displays inspired by the holiday. The school community wore red, and classes even celebrated with fun activities and events like pizza parties.

Students in the vocational program also made bouquets of flowers for staff, from a large supply of flowers generously donated by Trader Joe’s.

The League School wishes everyone a happy Valentine’s Day!

The American Autism Association has compiled a great list of seven sensory-friendly Valentine’s Day crafts and activities that parents and children can do together. Check out the list here.

The Asperger/Autism Network (AANE) has a terrific post about loving yourself for who you are and embracing what makes yourself special and unique. Read it here

For those looking for something to watch, consider “Love on the Spectrum” on Netflix. It follows the dating lives of individuals on the autism spectrum and the challenges they face. There is an original Australian version and a U.S. version available.
