Hundreds Attend League School’s Practical Data Collection Strategies Conference
League School of Greater Boston hosted hundreds of educators today for a special conference on data collection and IEP best practices.
The piloting of Massachusetts’ new IEP form by League School and the other 18 early adopter sites completed earlier this year, and the new IEP form, slated for implementation over the next several years, is dramatically different in both its format and requirements.
As such, the League School sponsored its “Practical Data Collection Strategies” conference on Friday, March 24 at the Dedham Holiday Inn Conference Center. More than 100 educators from 50 school districts throughout the state were in attendance.
Attendees had the opportunity to attend up to four breakout sessions, which included the following:
- Streamlining Data Collection for Monitoring Challenging Student Populations – Presented by Boston Public Schools
- Finding a Starting Point for Inclusive Classroom Instruction – Presented by Dracut Public Schools
- Monitoring Student Independent Use of Strategies Across School Environments – Presented by Fitchburg Public Schools
- Practical Strategies for Data Collection in the Classroom – Presented by League School of Greater Boston
- Making Connections with Available Data – Presented by Southbridge Public Schools
- Designing Live & Passive Data Tracking w/ Practical Applications for Student Success – Presented by Wakefield Public Schools
- Using Data to Build Solid Parent/Guardian Relationships in the IEP Process – Presented by Webster Public Schools
April Rist, IEP Improvement Project Director for the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, provided the opening remarks for the conference.
