League School’s Center for Autism Education Invites You to Attend Autism: Early Detection and the Next Steps
On Wednesday afternoon, May 25th, from 3:30-5:30pm, a special event will be taking place in League School’s Vetstein auditorium – Autism: Early Detection and the Next Steps. That afternoon, leaders in the field of Autism will come together to discuss identifying the early warning signs, commonly used evidence-based treatment methods, and where parents and teachers can go to find community support or education.
All are welcome to attend but this free workshop would greatly benefit SPED Instructors, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Speech & Language Pathologists, Psychologists, BCBAs, Elementary and Preschool Teachers, MDs, RNs, Mental Health Professionals and Parents.
Presenters will include:
- Yamini Howe, M.D., a Board-Certified Developmental Behavioral Pediatrician on staff at the Lurie Center for Autism, a multidisciplinary program that treats children, adolescents and adults with autism spectrum and other neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Gillian Erhabor, Ph.D., a licensed clinical psychologist at the Lurie Center who conducts and supervises the neuropsychological assessment of children within the early childhood period. Her patients include young children across the autism spectrum and those with other complex medical and/or neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Suzanne Bloomer, MA, a Family Support Clinician at the Lurie Center for Autism, a multidisciplinary program that treats children, adolescents and adults with autism spectrum and other neurodevelopmental disorders. Ms. Bloomer’s role is to support families whose children are under the age of 14 and to facilitate their access to services, particularly focusing on providing support, information and referrals, and resources to the families of newly diagnosed patients.
We hope you can join us for what promises to be an engaging and informative afternoon of experts sharing their thoughts and insights with us. To register, please e-mail Janet Schwartz at info@leagueschool.com.
