Trunk-or-Treat Brings Families, Friends and Spooky Fun to League

Halloween came early this year as the annual trunk-or-treat event was a big hit at League School.

The celebration was held on Saturday, Oct. 28 at the school, a week after the event was originally postponed due to rain. Two long rows of cars lined the school’s lower parking lot, with trunks decorated in a variety of Halloween-themed designs. In addition to many bowls of free candy for all those in attendance, there were stations for pumpkin decorating, crafts, games, and more.

Put on by the school’s vocational program, the event featured many League School vans decorated for the occasion in addition to many more vehicles supplied by families and members of the community. League staff members manned the various tables, including face painting and other art projects with the school’s new art teacher, Yuan Yuan Wang.

Free pizza was also supplied for those in attendance, and Halloween-themed music had many dancing.

“This was a great turnout and we’re so glad the weather cooperated,” said Kelly Iacono, the school’s Hawk’s Nest manager and one of the vocational staff who helped organize the event. “We really love seeing so many of our families come together and support the school and get in the spirit.”

Some of the best costumes included pirates, zombies, skeletons, Barbie, dinosaurs, pumpkins and more. Many staff members also dressed up, and costumes were seen in the halls of the school in the days leading up to the event as well.
