Successful “Fore” Autism Golf Classic Brings Outdoor Learning Space Project Closer to Completion

The fourth annual “Fore” Autism Golf Classic may have looked different from previous years but it remained a tremendous success, raising over $56,000.  Proceeds from the day will be directed towards our continuing efforts to improve learning opportunities for our students. Specifically, it will be used purchase new and appropriate equipment for our outdoor learning space.

Held on Monday, September 28, 112 golfers enjoyed a spectacular fall day at the Walpole Country Club. In compliance with state guidelines, golfers teed off throughout the day instead of the traditional shotgun start. To keep limit gatherings, the post-golf awards reception was replaced by lunch service throughout the day for the golfers.  “We recognize the challenges everyone is facing. For so many businesses and individuals to come out in support of our school was great to see.”  said Tim McCabe, Director of Development.

McCabe went on to say, “The success was due in large part to the efforts of our golf committee. I would like to extend my sincerest thanks to Board member, Bob Walsh, as well as Lenny McAlister from Cambridgeport Custom Air, and Dave Surette from IQHQ, for their hard work and generosity”.

Building an appropriate outdoor space that is accessible, exciting, and engaging for all of our students is estimated to cost $135,000. Construction will be scheduled in phases. League School is currently in phase II, which includes purchasing new and appropriate equipment for the space. For more information about our outdoor learning space project, including donating or learning about naming opportunities within the space contact Tim McCabe, Director of Development tmccabe@leagueschool.com.

With new and appropriate equipment, the space will be a continuation of our students learning
