Occupational Therapy and the Learning Environment: Exploring the Neurobiology of Behavior and Emotions
On Thursday, March 1st, members of the League School’s OT staff will be facilitating at a presentation for Education and Clinical Directors at the Doctor Franklin Perkins School in Lancaster, MA entitled “Occupational Therapy and the Learning Environment: Exploring the Neurobiology of Behavior and Emotions.” Lindsay Wagner, Ashley Kost, and Tracy Mello will lead discussions as participants will explore the basics of neurological functioning in order to gain a greater understanding of the stress response and how it impacts a student’s availability for learning. Attendees will gain insight into how and why strategies can be useful to help their students self-regulate while learning new tools to use in the classroom that specifically target the nervous system.
