League School's Annual 5K Walk/Run Splashes On….

Over 40 brave souls weathered (pun intended) extreme conditions to participate in last Saturday’s 4th Annual League School 5K Walk/Run that was held at the Old Post Elementary School in Walpole.  Prior to the race’s start at 9:00, runners, walkers, volunteers and supporters gathered in the school’s gym to register and warm up.  After brief, encouraging words of welcome from League School Principal, Patrick Fuller, runners and walkers set off in a driving rain to “race for glory.”  While the rain, sleet and occasional snowflake might have drenched their clothing, it did not dampen the spirits of participants.  Splashing through large puddles, they completed the race and enjoyed fruit and refreshments in the gym followed by a celebratory party for all at Bertucci’s in Norwood.
We want to thank race coordinator, Lindsey Wagner, and her crew of able volunteers for making the race a memorable and enjoyable event for all who participated.  We also wanted to thank all of our corporate sponsors, O’LYN Roofing, Taco Bell, Walpole Co-Operative Bank, The Vanderbilt Club, Walpole Signorama, and JM Electrical Company for the continued support.  We hope to see everyone again next year when the weather will be better (how can it not be).
