League School of Greater Boston Earns NASET ‘Schools of Excellence’ Distinction
For the third consecutive year, the League School of Greater Boston has been named a “School of Excellence” by the National Association of Special Education Teachers (NASET).
League School is one of only five schools in Massachusetts, and one of only two in the Greater Boston area, to earn the distinction for 2023.
A total of 121 schools from 26 states nationwide made this year’s list, which can be found here. League School previously received the distinction in both 2021 and 2022.
NASET has announced its “Schools of Excellence” list each year since 2008, selecting from among qualified licensed private special education schools throughout the United States. Selection to the list is the highest honor a private special education school can achieve through NASET, and is bestowed on schools that meet rigorous professional criteria and have demonstrated truly exceptional dedication, commitment and achievement in the field of special education.
As part of the selection process, NASET annually completes a screening of various private special education schools in the United States. Upon preliminary review, certain select schools are notified that they appear to meet the criteria to be selected to the NASET Schools of Excellence list. Upon notification, the schools need to complete an application form for verification of the information obtained by NASET.
“This prestigious and highly selective distinction is shared by all of the teachers and staff here at League School who work tirelessly every day on behalf of our students,” said League School CEO Larry Sauer. “Being a special education teacher takes a tremendous amount of passion and dedication, and it means a great deal that our teachers are recognized as some of the very best in the country for what they do.”
