DCU for Kids Supports League’s Music Program
DCU for Kids has once again partnered with League School in helping our students lead happier and more productive lives. DCU has generously awarded the school a grant in the amount of $7,000 for the purchase of new musical instruments and the opportunity to expand opportunities within our music program.
Students with autism have unique and varying learning styles: visual, auditory and kinesthetic. Music compliments those learning styles. Incorporating it into their educational program has proven to be valuable in a variety of ways such as improved motor skills, a common delay among individuals with autism. Bringing music to the lives of our students also helps them overcome social and communicative deficits, allowing them to interact with their peers and educators in ways that simply would not have been possible.
DCU for Kids is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit charitable foundation founded in 2005 by DCU – better known as Digital Federal Credit Union. To date, DCU for Kids has made charitable donations that total over $8 million. Over the past three years, DCU has donated $15,000 in support of League School’s mission.
