5K Walk/Run for Autism is an In-Person and Fundraising Success

After two years of holding our annual 5K Walk/Run for Autism virtually, we returned to a much-appreciated in-person format on Saturday, May 14. Our walkers, runners, and sponsors raised over $45,000—the most ever—for the school’s technology and summer activity needs. “It was a beautiful day for enjoying this fun event and we are grateful for all the support we received,” said Tim McCabe, Director of Development. “After two years of holding the event virtually, it was a welcome change to be together and have the opportunity to showcase the new playground that our supporters made possible.”

This year’s Walk/Run started at the school’s main entrance and looped around Moosehill Road. In addition to passing the new state-of-the-art playground, participants went by the property where the new Vocational Center is planned. Over 125 people participated and were treated to lunch by Beacons Restaurant on their outdoor patio. Sponsors Direct Federal Credit Union, O’LYN Roofing, Middlesex Bank, Dedham Savings, Taco Bell Lockwood/McKinnon, Wegmans, McDonald’s JBK Management, and Dempsey Insurance Agency were critical for the event’s success. Thank you all!
