5K for Autism Team Profile: Team Happy Feet

The League School’s 5K Run/Walk for Autism is fast approaching, and we are once again looking forward to welcoming members of the community to come together and support our school with an exciting and family-friendly event.

This year’s 5K Run/Walk for Autism will take place on Saturday, May 13 at the school.

One team that has already signed up to participate is Team Happy Feet, who have done the walk for the past several years.

The team chooses to walk off-site at Francis William Bird Park in East Walpole. Team captain Vidya Ramgopal said while the members of the team do not have a specific connection with League School, they are excited to do the walk each year.

“We love that it’s a way to support our local community and support a great cause,” she said. “We get together at Bird Park and walk laps, and we can get some fresh air outdoors and give back to the school at the same time.”

The team of friends all live in the nearby Estates at Walpole residential community, and this year will have around 10 participants on their team.

“We like to sign up as soon as we can, and hope others do too!” she said.

The event will begin promptly at 10 a.m. on May 13. A post-event reception lunch will be held at Beacons Restaurant immediately following from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. To register for the event or for more information, or to learn about volunteer opportunities, click here or email Special Events Coordinator Michelle Melanson at mmelanson@leagueschool.com
