I could write chapters on the benefits of the League School and the positive impact it’s had on my son Dylan, who has been a residential student for more than three years. What particularly comes to mind now, as we wind down another turbulent pandemic year, is just how remarkably this program has continued to support our kids despite unprecedented challenges.
Within a week or so of the first lock-down, Dylan’s teacher had created an entire on-line learning program that in itself was logistical magic. With Dylan physically isolated from both his family home and classroom, the staff brought even more activities into the residence, and in the blink of an eye he was regularly doing yoga, cooking, getting a haircut and having dance parties.
Words can’t express our warm feelings toward the residential and school staff, who sacrificed their own well-being to make sure Dylan and the other students were safe, comfortable, engaged and entertained.
Dylan’s world has broadened significantly at League; he’s once again working in the community, learning how to care for himself more independently and enjoying more activities and foods. We look forward to another great year of progress.
