Shortly after her son’s (Bailey) autism diagnosis in 2001, Sammi became an active supporter of Autism Speaks.  As a volunteer, she raised awareness about autism throughout Southern New England; and chaired the Southern New England Walk for Autism Research held in Providence, RI.  She was also a member of the New England Chapter’s Board of Directors for Autism Speaks.
