Cynthia (Cindy) McGrath established Strategic MarCom to help businesses connect with their employees and customers. She propels organizations’ visibility and objectives through digital and print marketing communications. In addition to her collaboration with healthcare purchasers, brokers, consulting firms, nonprofit organizations, and secondary and higher educational institutions, she served as the part-time Marketing Communications Strategist to edHEALTH, a healthcare purchasing coalition for 25 colleges, universities, and secondary schools.

Prior to her consulting work, Cindy McGrath was the long-time Communications Director for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Group Insurance Commission, the agency that provides health and other insurance benefits to over 460,000 state and municipal workers, retirees, and their family members. In this role, she communicated and advanced innovative healthcare solutions that paved the way for industry-wide adoption: tiering providers based on quality and cost efficiency; mental health parity; patient safety; and limited network plans.

Cindy McGrath serves on the Board of Directors for the New England Employee Benefits Council (NEEBC), which advances knowledge for employee benefits professionals. She is the co-chair of NEEBC’s 2022 Summit, and has co-chaired NEEBC’s Solutions Programs and Best Practices Conference, for which she served on the committee for 12 years. She was also a 16-year Scholarship Committee member. A resident of Norwood, she is a Morrill Memorial Library Outreach Volunteer. Additionally, she serves on the Friends Board for the League School of Greater Boston, a leading educator for children and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Ms. McGrath graduated cum laude from the University of Massachusetts Amherst’s School of Business with a BS degree in marketing. She holds a Commonwealth of Massachusetts Health Insurance Adviser License.
