Joseph C. Freeman
Prior to founding The Freeman Firm, P.C in 1992, Joe was General Counsel and member of the senior executive team at Saracen Properties. In his role as General Counsel, he directed the firm’s legal activities, focusing on commercial, office, hotels, health care and development and investment opportunities. As a senior executive and General Counsel, Joe played an integral role in directing the strategic direction of the company as well as sourcing deals, reviewing development and investment opportunities, and managing projects.
Since founding The Freeman Firm, P.C. in 1992, Joe has represented a variety of commercial real estate clients including South Shore Hospital, Cresset Partners, NAI Hunneman and Saracen Properties. Joe is a General Partner of WD Homer LLC, the owner of the 292,000 square foot mill building located at 200 Homer Avenue in Ashland. In addition, Joe has partnered with Mark Development and the Manzo Companies to own/develop multiple mill properties in the Greater Boston metro area including Walpole, Hudson and Nashua.
Joe has investments in a number of operating businesses and real estate partnerships. He is passionate about real estate conservation and owns significant holdings in conservation easement Georgia timber property. Joe is a partner and owner of an island, Long Caye Lighthouse Reef Atoll, in Belize, Central America. The strategy for the environmentally unique island involves a balance of green development, conservation and scientific research. Stanford University, Wake Forest University and Boston University are actively involved in scientific research of coral reefs in the atoll surrounding the island.
Joe received his JD from Boston College Law School and also attended University of Notre Dame Law School. He also received a BS in finance from University of Colorado Business School.
