League School to Host Special Presentation: “The New Massachusetts Autism Teacher Endorsement: An Overview” – First in a Series of Presentations in Partnership Between League School of Greater Boston and Lesley University

League School of Greater Boston would like to invite educational professionals as well as anyone else interested to attend a special professional development opportunity it is hosting at its campus at 300 Boston Providence Highway (Route 1) on Tuesday, May 26th from 4:00-6:00 P.M.

That afternoon, Elizabeth Stringer Keefe of Lesley University will be
making a presentation entitled “The New Massachusetts Autism Teacher Endorsement: An Overview.” Ms. Keefe will explain the origin of the new Massachusetts Autism Teacher Endorsement, the background, requirements, and what this state credential can do to bring autism knowledge to schools.

Elizabeth Stringer Keefe is on the faculty in Lesley’s Graduate School of Education. Her work focuses on the preparation and education of teachers who work with students with autism. She was involved in the advocacy to bring the autism teacher endorsement to Massachusetts and has worked on its implementation.

A question and answer period will follow the talk. Special Education Directors are encouraged to bring their special education teachers and other interested parties as attendees will receive 2 PDPs for participating.

This will be the first in what we hope will be a series of informative presentations as League School of Greater Boston is partnering with Lesley University to bring Lesley’s 15-credit Graduate Autism Intervention Specialization to its Walpole location as an off-campus satellite program, beginning in June 2015.

To reserve your spot, please RSVP by calling League School at 508-850-3900 or by e-mailing League School’s Executive Director, Dr. Frank Gagliardi, directly at fgagliardi@leagueschool.com. We hope you can join us for this engaging presentation.
