Please join Elizabeth Stringer Keefe, who will be presenting an overview of autism, as well as the origin of the new Massachusetts Autism Teacher Endorsement, the background and requirements, and what this state credentials can do to bring autism knowledge to schools.
League School of Greater Boston is collaborating with Lesley University to bring Lesley’s 15-credit Graduate Autism Specialization to the school’s Walpole location as a satellite program. A second cohort will begin January 2016. There will be a question and answer period after the discussion. Special Education Directors are encouraged to bring their special education teachers and other interested parties.
Elizabeth Stringer Keefe, Assistant Professor of Special Education, is on the faculty in the Graduate School of Education at Lesley University. Her research and work as a teacher/educator focuses on the preparation and education of teachers who educate students with autism. Ellen was involved in the advocacy to bring the autism teacher endorsement to Massachusetts.
