Dedham Savings Makes a Healthier League School

The Dedham Institution for Savings Foundation donated $5,000 to League School of Greater Boston to enhance the school’s nutritional education and adaptive physical education programs.

For children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), the benefits of physical activity and nutrition are critical in leading productive lives.  Research has demonstrated that increased aerobic exercise can significantly decrease the frequency of negative behaviors while helping develop delayed motor skills: both are common characteristics found in children with ASD.  League School of Greater Boston has committed to addressing the nutritional and adaptive physical education needs of students on two fronts: by implementing a nutritional education component into the Culinary Arts Program and by investing in new fitness equipment that allows all of our students to participate in adaptive physical education.

Thank you, Dedham Institution for Savings for your continued support of our students!
